PRO-AM CYCLE TIME TRIALLING
About us
We are a cycle racing organisation that specialise in racing UK CTT time trials. We race in CTT Type A & B events. We try and train using fixed wheel bikes mainly and revert to gears only when we need to.
We are committed to racing, training and riding in a style consistent with all the rules and regulations of the CTT and follow all of the UK government regulations and laws on road use and substance use. We ride legally and we ride clean.
We represent the the Dominion and ride in the livery of the Dominion under the name of Jem'Hadar Racing.
The Jem'HadarRacing Story
Most, but not all, conventional cycle clubs that are involved with time trialling are democratic regimes run by a committee of elected officials. We found that the democratic process often prevented a lot of good work by a keen member who wanted to introduce new ideas, by committee members blocking their endeavour and honest thoughts. The democratic committees often failed to deal with a rouge member who did poorly thought out things in the clubs name by bypassing the committee and going off in a tangent, not following the clubs philosophy. Most sponsored teams are run as the 'toy' of the person who funds the team are are often short lived. The guy funding the team expects a return on his investment and an amateur racer getting a small value token gift ends up the puppet of the sponsor. The other type of club is one where you ride for your coach in his club. Basically paying a premium fee for someone to tell you to ride your bike in a certain way, you may go a little faster, but are you having as much fun? Not wanting to be a part of these set ups it was was decided to form Jem'Hadar Racing, a race organisation without democracy and following the principles of the Dominion and the Great Link. This allows Jem'Hadar Racing to be nimble with their strategy and organisational decisions, without meetings, committees or rogue officials. Being part of the Dominion in the form of the Jem'Hadar brings a fresh irony to the sport in a clandestine manor especially with our principal partner being Ketracel White. Currently we are a racing organisation. We are progressing in cycle race organisational work by supporting veteran time trialling in statistical management and helping with the organisation of VTTA events in Yorkshire. Jem'Hadar aims to promote an event in the mid term, depending on the status of the regional CTT leadership and their agreement to adopt modern organisational techniques.
